Pelvic Girdle Pain

Pelvic girdle pain has been described as a collection of signs and symptoms of discomfort
and pain in the pelvis and lower back (lumbopelvic) area, including musculoskeletal pain
radiating to the upper thighs and perineum. Symptoms vary from mild discomfort to severe
and debilitating pain that can hinder mobility. Other causes of pain in the pelvic area (eg
urinary tract infection, preterm labour) should be excluded (Kanakaris et al 2011)

Physiotherapy interventions​

  • exercise therapy (individualised or group-based/home-based/land- or water-based e.g.
    water gymnastics
  • manual therapy (spinal mobilisation and spinal manipulation)
  • electrotherapy (therapeutic ultrasound and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation)
  • pelvic belts,massage, and patient information/educational programmes.

Back,neck and rib pain

They arise through a combination of lifestyle changes, body changes, immobility, hormones, and stress.

Blocked Milk ducts

Nearly 1 in 5​ breastfeeding​ women are affected by mastitis.Mastitis is usually the result of a blocked milk duct that hasn’t cleared, this causes inflammation. ​ The symptoms include redness, breast pain, swelling and generalised ‘flu-like’ symptoms. A blocked duct can become mastitis within hours. If you can’t clear a blockage yourself within 12 hours, seek help
